AV over IP has moved past the question of whether the packets will arrive. The real limit now is who can keep the systems running when the schedule slips and the room count climbs. Installers already see the shift in bid documents that list ST 2110 and AES67 alongside older Dante runs. The new AIMS training at training.ipmx.io tries to close the gap between published specs and what actually gets terminated in the rack.

Signal paths that survive 2 a.m. Foundations level walks through packet timing and PTP without assuming prior network experience. That matters when a single misaligned clock source drops video on three lectern feeds at once. The module shows how to read offset values in a live capture and spot drift before it turns into visible glitches. Systems level then maps those packets onto actual switch configurations and redundancy paths. Techs who have traced a failed fiber run at load-in know why the difference between active and passive failover shows up in the log files, not the brochure. One exercise forces users to simulate a link failure and watch the stream recovery time on a small test network.

Run the full stream count for at least four hours and note which endpoints drop first. That data set beats any amount of classroom time when the client asks why the system stayed up through the evening event. After the soak test, export the switch logs and endpoint telemetry so the next crew has a baseline if issues appear months later.
